[SOLVED] Terrible connection

Post by 5BNeumann »

Hello,
A little while ago (one month maximum) my connection suddenly became bad. I haven't changed of router, nor computer and some things actually work but others don't. for an exemple, Freetube works perfectly but firefox/chromium are really slow to load anything, same for discord and komikku. I already tried multiple time to do some

Code: Select all

ping google.com
and the outcome is kinda strange since I have something like a 27ms response time and 0% packet loss but when it try to load the page, the upload and download speed sometimes (often) drops at 0B. Is this a software problem ? If yes, how can I fix it ?

If need be, establish temporary internet connection by other means.

Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- Make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxxpmrz
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter, and don't omit the space after inxi!)

Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output into your next message.

Do the same with the following four commands:

Code: Select all

rfkill list all

Code: Select all

iwconfig

Code: Select all

lsusb

Code: Select all

lspci

Don't worry, you won't have to make tutorials on how to type (insert here) command, I'm pretty used to linux (though I admit the two "hardest" things I've ever done are recompiling twice my bluetooth driver (I nuked 'em twice) and installing arch without archinstall or anything else than a cli (on a vm))

The information request is simply a one-size-fits-all piece of text that I copy/paste into many forum threads like these (yup, I'm lazy). Don't take it personal. :wink:

This should bring at least some improvement (beneficial in all cases):
https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.c ... ml#ID2.1.1
(item 2.1.1)

But personally, I'd try this as well:
Update Manager - panel: View - Linux kernels
Install the latest kernel of the 6.5 series. Then reboot and test.

Well, I tried all of this but I have no improvement, I think this might be because of my router or smth otherwise, I don't understand.

Shutdown the computer. Reboot the Modem/Router by unplugging it and then plugging it back in. Then wait about 5 minutes. Restart the computer. Any improvement?
