In April when Ubuntu 24.04 LTS has been released, will there be a Linux Mint update soon after built on top of the newer stable base ?

Linux Mint 22, which will be based on Ubuntu 24.04, will come out some time this summer (likely July-August timeframe).

Ubuntu uses fixed dates for releases. Mint doesn't so it's not so easy to pinpoint a date. IMO Mint is correct, fixed dates make less sense.

*nods to Hoser Rob's reasonable opinion at the last part of his comment*

The Mint dev team has consistently done a great job with refining the Mint operating system, not because they prioritize releasing new final versions on set dates but focus more on qa ( quality assurance) aka quality inspecting their product and resolving as many problems as possible before the non-beta final release.

This is just one of the many reasons I absolutely love Mint and have always felt at home here.

Fixed dates make more sense in the commercial world. That way, customers can make plans for upgrades based on a known time table.
