Thunar file manager: can the Thunar suffix be disabled?

At the top of the file manager window and in the panel icon Thunar adds the suffix " - Thunar" to whatever folder you are in. For example, if you are in your Documents folder you see "Documents - Thunar". This seems superflous to me. Is there a way to disable the added suffix so I only see the actual folder name?

It seems superfluous to me too. Not an Xfce user any more but I used it for years and I never saw that.

You need to post more system info, copy/paste the text output of

I looked into all Thunar settings, and there isn't a setting for it.
I also looked into dconf-editor, nothing related to Thunar (I'm not using Xfce though).
I could not find anything relevant in the documentation either https://docs.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/start

I made sure that the libgtk-3-dev package is installed (which it was).
I went to dconf-editor to enable its keyboard shortcut:

org.gtk.settings.debug.enable-inspector-keybinding

Then in Thunar I pressed Control + Shift + D which opens the GTK Inspector.
I went to Objects / Properties and found "title"

which lets me edit the window title, so I deleted the - Thunar

but I don't know how to make that change "stick". That's as far as I got.

So it looks like the only way might be to edit the source code of Thunar and recompile. But there might be some CSS trick, maybe.

Thanks for looking into it. I also scanned the documentation and couldn't find anything there. Editing source code and recompiling is further than I'd want to go, but the developers seem to accept enhancement requests so I'll probably make a suggestion there: https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/-/i ... nhancement
