Xfce is still my favourite Desktop. Regardless of what else I play with, I always have Xfce as my 'main' Desktop and KDE as my backup - mostly for Activities.
Xfce is the most customisable. It can be as weird as I like but can be made 'dead plain' in a few seconds.
KDE is just 'nicer' than anything else I have lived with.
All the others seem just too restrictive after nearly 25 years of Linux style 'flexibility'.
Current main OS: MInt 21.3 with KDE Plasma 5.27 (using Compiz as WM) - Kernel: 6.5.0-15 on Lenovo m900 Tiny, i5-6400T (intel HD 530 graphics) 16GB RAM.

I agree. KDE is beautiful, but too heavy for my mid to low level laptops & desktops.
Not trying to put down Cinnamon, but it just doesn't fit my preferences or workflow.
For work, there is no other option other than XFCE for me. It can be beautiful, it's endlessly customizable, and stable (unless you don't know what you are doing and you fiddle around too much with Compiz).

I thought with MInt 21.2 running Plasma happily, I should make sure my Xfce 4.18 that I've been trying out for a month or so was also playing nice with it. So far it is excelellent.

I'm not a developer or anything, just a normal person using their PC to chill out and play some games. Linux Mint works great :]
