Mint 20 with my own wallpaper creation. Well, tried everything I could think of but it won't upload "ERROR File too large". The image is a 1920x1080 , 129kb .jpg file. I think you folks need better forum software.

Different solution approach:
You do what user Pjotr before you did as well:
  1. upload your image file to a free file hoster, e.g. imgur.com or postimg.cc
  2. post the URL pointing to the uploaded image file here

I'm sorry, but that seems lazy and cavalier. What happens if the other hosting site goes offline, or they "weed out junk" or decide to stop people leeching from their server like that? Would you want thousands of people leeching off your server like that? Self-sufficiency always wins. I realize I may get banned for speaking my mind, but I value truth and respect of others above all else. Please don't put the work on someone else.. you folks need better forum software.

If it can't be done the way it should (or rather: you think it should), it should be done the way it can. Life is unfair, tough and ends badly for everyone; all we can do is make the best of it.

Am using https://github.com/varietywalls/variety which periodically changes the wallpaper, so kinda random.

The size limit imposed on image files, which can be uploaded to the forum servers, is not a limit imposed by the forum software as such. It is a limit imposed by the site owner. It is not totally unlikely that one of the reasons is that permitting large image files to be uploaded here directly would make the disk space explode, which the forum server would need to have.
Yet, this is only my understanding of why the size limit is kept as low as it is.
I am just a moderator. I can tell you how you can share your screenshots here. Whether you do so or not, this is your decision.

File size limits are always there, even in the newer types of forum software, and that makes sense. If you don't put a limit on that your server will be full of unnecessarily large image files in no time.

A quick resize and some compression does the trick, even for a wallpaper-sized image
