how to get cario-dock in start menu

how do i get cario-dock to be added to my start menu (i b a new b) :)

Sorry I am not sure what you mean. Cairo-dock is added to the menu automatically when installed and is also added to the startup applications ( at least in the Mate edition)

If you mean how to get the dock to start automatically when you log in ... I'm using Mate but assume there is a similar function in the settings menu of Cinnamon etc:

In Startup applications on Control Center, add an entry with
name = whatever you want
command = cairo-dock -o OR cairo-dock -c
the "o" option forces openGL, so you get stuff like a mesh around a spinning icon
the "c" option (which I use) has a smaller memory footprint and does the job without the fancier stuff with a few oddities (for me) like confirmation prompts being invisible

It's very simple.

In the main applications menu, locate Cairo Dock.

In the Right click options, check "Launch when I login".

you can launch it by using :
cairo-dock -c
