Hello everyone,
I'm new to compiz and I have 2 questions.
1-How can I make sure that compiz will start automatic at startup?
2-I'm missing some effects, like in Pool I'm missing the fire effect.
I'm on LinuxMint 14
Best!

#1
In a terminal type “mateconf-editor”
When the editor opens:
Go to /desktop/mate/session/required_components/windowmanager and replace "marco" with "compiz".
Now click menu and look for "Startup Applications Preferences" and run it
Make an entry call "Compiz Start"....actually you can name it anything
and make the command "compiz --replace"
Reboot computer
Bring up a terminal and type "ps -ef | grep compiz"
you should see "compiz --replace" running
#2 Mint 14 is missing Animation Add-on which has that fire effect
I guess we just wait for that or you can revert to Mint 13 if that is a showstopper for you
