Dear there,

First time Linux user and glad to gain my 2017 HP all-in-one back from MS Windows :-)

Tried to install Wechat computer version (3.9.9) via WINE. The installation seems OK and the wechat icon was also populated in desktop. However, when I click and run it, shows an error. Uninstall and re-install twice, same issue and gave up?

Any other way to run Wechat computer version on Linux Min 20.3?

Appreciate your help!

Wechat has some privacy issues, the best way to run it is to create a Windows Virtual Machine with Virtualbox and then install the Windows version of Wechat. I have a separate Windows VM for Wechat, that works well and no need to worry about privacy. Wechat can only access that VM and nothing else.

If you want to run it with Wine or even the native Linux version you can try the Ubuntu Kylin software downloads. Latest native version is 2.1.1 but that still works as far as I know.
