how can i enable the terminal transparency...

Right-click, Preferences, Profiles, Colors, "Use transparent background"

I have the same problem, there's no option to enable transparency:
EDIT: as suggested elsewhere, I switched to XFCE terminal which has the transparency option, it seems that Debian removes that from GNOME terminal.
