Issue with Bluetooth.

Hello, I am unable to get Bluetooth to turn on and im afraid i have entirely bricked it. Please help.

I tried to follow other support articles on this forum for my specific Wireless controller: Realtek RTL8821CE but was unable to get it to work, anyone have any suggestions?

Tried reinstalling Mint and to no avail, It is not showing up as a device on the system now.

I had same tortuous problems with my ASUS E210 fitted with RealTek 8821CE.

If you try random stuff to connect it gets it's knickers in a twist, and it's hit & miss if you ever get connected before giving up the will to live.

No amount of searching forums for solutions or installing/uninstalling software works.

Now, this bit I'm not sure about, and it sounds strange, but I've seen a couple of posts and found this to work for me - twice I've found that shutting the thing down and disconnecting the mains power for 30mins can make things come alive again.

Eventually found out that if you are very strict about the order you do stuff after that it always works.

So, if you're ever lucky enough to get it paired, then when shutting down laptop

1) Turn off headphones
2) Disable Bluetooth
3) Shutdown

Then when turning on laptop

1) Enable Bluetooth
2) Turn on headphones (should automatically connect)

Works for me - couple of months of switching on/off doing the above (apart from once, when I didn't do it in right order and gave up will to live again).

One thing I'm not sure about is whether wifi interferes with it - as I understand it the Realtek 8821CE handles both bluetooth & wifi and I tend to have wifi disabled since I only use this laptop for listening to audio.
