Hi everyone,
Long time computer user who knows about enough to be dangerous. I have always used Windows machines until getting a couple of Macs. Then, installed Linux Mint on my Win machine in a separate partition so that I have a dual boot. Thinking about doing the same to my Mac desktop.
Are there any good "Mentoring" forums or folks who like to teach newbies how to use Linux?
Thanks,
Big1

Re: Need to Learn
I am extremely new to Linux but want to learn. At this very moment, I am having trouble with connecting to the internet and trying to figure out how to fix it.

Re: Need to Learn
If need be, establish temporary internet connection by other means.
Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- Make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:
Code: Select all
inxi -Fxxxpmrz
Press Enter.
Copy/paste the output into your next message.
Do the same with the following four commands:
Code: Select all
rfkill list all
Code: Select all
iwconfig
Code: Select all
lsusb
Code: Select all
lspci
