This was posted on another Forum a couple of weeks ago and thought it'd be interesting to see the views of our members here.
Reading AZgl1500's thread "Three Screens to plug into your Laptop" reminded me of it.
I apologize if it's already been mentioned here but I couldn't find any reference:

.. Thoughts? I won't add mine just yet.

Technically brilliant, but totally unusable. An abysmal failure.

No way. Then everyone in the room will be able to see my po...emails. That is a nightmare for privacy.

Looks like something out of Star Trek, I would find the screen distracting since you can see through it. I'll take a vintage Dell Latitude before I'd buy that.

The fact that it's Lenovo is a complete turn off for me, and the deciding factor on why I will never own one. Like another mentioned, It is a privacy nightmare.

If it wasn't already for the distraction through the screen, being Lenovo alone would have been the deal breaker for me.

Re: Lenovo prorotype see-through laptop?!?
I guess Lenovo has garnished a rather sour reputation of late .. hope my ancient examples don't fall in to this category. They are still serving me well.
My thoughts are .. with an intermediate LCD layer which could effectively black out the display between two layers of OLEDs, one could have a double sided display but switch out either and see what is on the other side. That might be useful for demos, presentations, whatever. Might be useful down the Pub instead of having to turn the laptop round to show something.
But this implementation is nothing but crap. IMHO.
Nothing more than a gimmick.
No practical use for working with graphics, videography etc. unless you're in an otherwise unlit room .. and the absence of an actual physical tactile keyboard is a complete turn-off, for me.
