[SOLVED] Need Help Installing Conky Manager 2.73

Hi everyone,

I just did a fresh install of Mint 21.3 on my Asus 2013 laptop. (It runs fine on an i3 2310m with 6 GB Ram, 2 for video and 4 for the OS, for anyone who is curious.) But I need help from the ground up for installing Conky Manager 2.73. I don't know where to find it or how to install it.

I currently have 2.72 installed but it doesn't work with Mint 21.3. It just won't automatically start my conky unless I do it manually. But I know Conky Manager 2.73 works right because I have it on my other PC that I upgraded from 21.2 to 21.3.

Thanks in advance for all the help you can give me. When it comes down to command lines I need to be able to copy and paste them.

Thank you for your help Koentj. Unfortunately this is only providing v2.72 and I need v2.73. 2.72 will not start the conky when the PC starts up. I have to start 2.72 and then choose my conky, whereas 2.73 can be a set and forget version because this all has to be done only once and then it starts automatically after that.

Are you sure? Because i compiled it from that git and am running 2.73!
Do you have a ~/.conky folder?
If you run cm2, activate all conkys, close cm2, is there a conky-startup.sh in it?
If yes, then autostart that at login.

I'll give it a try but I am not even sure which file on Git is the one to download. I wish they included 2.73 in Software Sources but they only include 2.72.

I followed their instructions and it did nothing.

Installation

For Ubuntu and derivatives:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:teejee2008/foss
sudo apt update
sudo apt install conky-manager2

And why not try GkrellM from the software manager. It gives the same data and is very flexible to set up. I have been using it from LM18 to 21.3 with no problems.
With me conky never works as I want.

I initially forgot to do the "sudo make install" command and could not figure out why 2.72 kept opening for me, but finally noticed it!

Thank you for showing me GkrellM. I installed it but I like my conky better. It is fairly minimalist and looks nice and simple to me. I now have conky manager 2.73 up and running, so I think I will be okay.
