Any operating system can be said to not be ready for desktop use, because no software is perfect. So we shouldn't use any operating system then?
Linux distros certainly have problems, but so do other operating systems, and in the end it all comes down to individual needs and preferences.

Most items in that garbage can of a website are outdated, misrepresented, exaggerated or just plain wrong.

There are just so many garbage items, that it would take far too much time and effort to debunk them one by one. I'm too lazy for that.
