Okay, this may sound like a strange question, but will Wayland, Mir or a replacement for X11 to come along, support things that X11 already does, like X11 tunneling over SSH, alt+left mouse button to move windows, scroll a separate window without having to click on it etc?
These are the things I really miss when I must use Windows, and I would hate to see them go with a replacement for X11. I know it's old, and some feel like it needs to be replaced, but I'm all for that IF what we already have can be incorporated.
Any and all answers are appreciated.
Thank you.

From the Wayland FAQ: http://wayland.freedesktop.org/faq.html#heading_toc_j_8root_nix wrote:like X11 tunneling over SSH
Those are things handled by your windows manager I think. Many desktop environments are on track to run on Wayland: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayland_% ... vironments. That article has a lot more interesting tidbits.root_nix wrote:alt+left mouse button to move windows, scroll a separate window without having to click
