Hi all. I'm planning on getting a new PC to run Mint - anybody have experience of the following equipment please? I've managed to get mint on my laptop, but need a desktop.

AMD A4 Series Dual Core (A4-4020) 3.2GHz

Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7480D

ASUS A58M-K AMD mATX Motherboard

Sound: Realtek ALC887-VD 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC

Or any sound card with a stereo mike input?

Those specs look good to me. Not sure about the sound card question but I am sure other community members will offer advice.

Thank you. I'm currently using an EMU0404 sound card, but I know that won't work as I've tried it. I'm surprised at how few sound cards have a stereo mike input. Lag I can put up with, but I need the stereo.

In general, I'd prefer an Nvidia video card over an AMD/ATI. Because Nvidia invests more in its Linux drivers than AMD/ATI does....
