Freakin Linux Headache to the MAX

Post by NeoGeo64 »

OMFG... So I installed and then uninstalled my AMD drivers because they're causing a massive memory leak when they run. So, I go back to the X.org drivers and reboot. MY BOOT SPLASH IS GONE!!! So, I panic and scream at the computer thinking I've just broken my Lunix and search Google and find the answer on these forums. I never thought anyone else would have experienced this. Anyways, I almost pulled out my hair trying to configure the grub file correctly and do everything right so it would come back.

I finally followed the instructions to a T and got my crap back working right. Jeez I need an aspirin. Or a beer.

Yes, I see that a lot here in the forums. Please take the time to freak out at AMD support. The more they hear how they are doing a disservice to the linux community, the sooner they may actually do something about it.

...and yet all my computers are / have been AMD and I have tried many distros - never any real problems....just lucky I guess.

You won the LInux lottery never having issues with your AMD hardware.

Have you made a deal with the Devil?
