All creative works are automatically copyrighted by the author; unless your image comes with a specific license giving you more permissions (e.g., some creative commons license) you must assume all creative works are copyrighted and you're thus not allowed to distribute them.
You can use something like https://www.tineye.com/ to possibly find the author's original distribution, and if there is any permissive license that goes along with it that would likely be found on the original website.

If you can grab whatever image you want from a "public domain" website, then you won't have to worry about copyright. One such site I use is
http://www.publicdomainpictures.net/
There are numerous of these website, so search for public domain picture
(consider substituting picture with the name of the image you specify want).
