Seems not really a problem (yet) for Linux desktop or servers.
It concerns mainly malware for smartphones ,and also data collectors installed by the customers themselves.
Seems more a concern for telecom operators ,and smarphone owners.

why

according to the Old Sage "as soon as one door closes another door will open". I think it was part of a song

I'm sure everyone here knows about the strong-arm attack on Yahoo,-- $250 grand a day if you don't play nice with us! (and install PRISM ) .

It may be a little harder to strong-arm an open source project but I ain't putting down no bets. the ferocity of the attack on the net for SIGINT is mind-boggling. Now, if we could just get NSA to enforce the National No Call list perhaps something good might come of it.
