Show your support for Linux - Displaylink USB Drivers

Post by Lope »

Anyone who has tried to use displaylink on Linux knows it's a frustrating experience. Very few displaylink devices work on Linux. The linux displaylink drivers are buggy and can't handle suspending, plugging unplugging, repositioning monitors much etc without crashing the whole X session. I've plugged one of my displaylink devices into a XP computer... bad move, it upgraded the firmware and now it won't work on Linux anymore.

Please show your support for using multiple monitors on Linux, so Displaylink knows we aren't insignificant.

I found these instructions for how to try to force DisplayLink devices to work on GNU/Linux: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DisplayLink. But anyway, I signed the petition, for what it's worth.
