Steam native client - envision any problems?

Post by MrD »

Linux Mint isn't Ubuntu. Not for gaming anyhow. I've had problems in the past with gaming software that didn't exist with vanilla Ubuntu. I'm wondering if anyone is expecting any issues?

I personally think that LM13 is the best linux OS I've used to date, and with Openshot working for basic video editing, and Gimp fine for my image manipulation needs, that gaming is the last piece of the puzzle. I don't want to have to return to vanilla Ubuntu when the native Steam client comes out. Since a Steam native client might just be the one thing that bursts Microsofts bubble and grab a lot of gamers over, any incompatibility with LM is my only real worry nowadays (Unity, it just sucks!)
