Suspend my laptop disables the HDMI output

Hello,
I have installed Mint 14 MATE 64Bit on my System76 Gazelle GazP7 as substitute of Ubuntu (which is default installed on this computer). Mint works quite well, the only component of the laptop that doesn't work out-of-the-box is the brightness controll, but it can be enabled by modifying /etc/default/grub.
So far, the only problem that I have is with the suspension: when I suspend my computer and then resume it, the computer loses the HDMI output of the graphic card. If I use xrandr to lists the outputs, HDMI isn't showed even if before the suspension it was enabled. The worst part is that even a reboot doesn't change this situation: no HDMI output and no errors in Xorg.0.log. The only way to fix this problem is to remove power source and the battery, wait some seconds and then power on the laptop again.
By the way, I didn't have this problem with Ubuntu and the System76 driver don't install anything about power management for my laptop (https://launchpad.net/system76-driver, under drivercontrol.py you can see that for gazp7 nothing is installed).
This raises a side question to this thread: what is different at kernel and drivers level between Ubuntu and Mint?
