Two network manager applets showing in panel.

Post by niebling »

I have Linux Mint XFCE and I have run into an interesting problem. My 'notification area' displays
2 network manager applet 0.9.0 icons!!! I can't get rid of them. Can anyone guess what is going on?
I recently update to kernel 3.0.0-1-amd64 and recompiled my wireless driver using the patch for my
broadcom low power wireless adapter, but this should not be the issue.
I have removed all my internet connections, depmod, rmmod wl etc. and still I have 2 icons in the
notification area. I do not want to lose my whole setup over this so any help would be appreciated...
Is there a file where the notifications are configured??? Can I edit this? Perhaps there are duplicate
entries?

Hi,
Had the same issue after upgrade to Qiana.
Went in Control Center -> Startup programs and they were to 2 network there. removed one and that fixed it for me.
