xfce4-display-settings on laptop lid open/close

Post by lars.friedrich.1980 »

Dear all,

When I open or close the lid of my laptop, a window pops up, that shows the display settings. The window can also be created by executing "xfce4-display-settings" in the shell. This behaviour is disturbing and I would like to switch it off.

My hardware is a Dell Inspiron 6400 notebook.
I use linux mint 17.2, XFCE edition, 32bit.

I think the same issue is described here:
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions ... -open?rq=1
However, the information there did not help me.

Any help is appreciated!
Cheers
Lars

I found the solution to my problem here:

http://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=8911

I found it by searching for "xubuntu lid xfce4-display-settings" instead of "mint lid xfce4-display-settings"

I'm glad you were able to solve your issue. Incidentally, Mint and Ubuntu aren't the only distros that offer an Xfce DE flavor. You could have found the same results (and probably even more) by leaving out the "xubuntu" term. And you could have searched only the Xfce community/help web forum by entering this into your search engine:

Code: Select all

site:forum.xfce.org lid xfce4-display-settings
