Decreasing Workspaces.

Post by Werewolf6851 »

Haven't narrowed down to when it happens, but my Mint 17 XFCE install will drop a workspace. ie, I use 4, but will log in and settings have dropped them to 3 or 2.

Is this fixed in 17.2??

Did you report it as a bug to the Xfce project? Or have you found a bug similar to your problem and helped on that?
A quick search for "workspaces" for Xfwm4 component (the Xfce window manager, most likely component for this) on Xfce's bug tracker (https://bugzilla.xfce.org/) finds me at least one somewhat similar bug that is reported to be affecting 4.10 (which is Mint 17.1 Xfce version): https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7757 (your problem is somewhat different, so I suggest going through the rest of the bugs to track down if the exact same issue has been reported already). Mint 17.2 ships with Xfce 4.12. Will it be fixed in that? IDK; I've never heard of this problem before today so it doesn't sound widespread and the linked bug for example is still open.

As always, not much point in reporting bugs on obsoleted versions. So wait till 17.2 before you report a bug on this, and even then you should probably not do so before testing it on the development version of Xfce first.

Try saving session???

menu -> settings -> session & startup

On general tab, save session at logout.
