Grive Tools

Post by yerc »

Has anyone on 17.1 XFCE managed to get Grive and Grive Tools working?
Link: https://www.thefanclub.co.za/how-to/ubu ... rive-tools

No success here, and this is the terminal output (which I have no idea what it means):
EDIT: see updated comments after the below code

Code: Select all

 ~ $ grive
Reading local directories
Synchronizing folders
exception: /build/buildd/grive-0.3.0/libgrive/src/protocol/AuthAgent.cc(174): Throw in function long int gr::AuthAgent::CheckHttpResponse(long int, const string&, const gr::http::Header&)

Can anybody please help?

LATER:
I thought (incorrectly) that running grive setup from command prompt ('grive -a' to enter google token then 'grive' again) would yield the same result as doing it from the gui. The command prompt method would not complete the setup, but the gui method worked. Will play around to see how it works

UPDATE:
All that work installing for nothing
My fault for being stubborn and ignoring the warning at the top of web page (see link above) that the project has been suspended.
Reading the comments shows syncing no longer works due to Google not supporting its older APIs.
I am now exploring other possibilities, maybe one of these works http://askubuntu.com/questions/611801/g ... -api-shift?

I gave up and paid for insync. It's a one-off fee and pretty reasonable. Great functionality but the client is quite ram-hungry.
