[SOLVED] Mint Rebecca fails to resume after suspend-to-ram
Hi I'm googling this problem for months with no result. Sometimes (1 in 10 cases) instead of resuming after suspend-to-ram I get login screen (which is weird because normally I have autologin) and after I fill my credentials I have all my windows closed. It looks like my mint reboots. I have no idea what could be the problem. Notebook is Lenovo R61 with nvidia graphics and drivers. Do you know what could cause the problem? It's driving me mad.

Re: Mint Rebecca fails to resume after suspend-to-ram
Might have something to do with the driver for your graphics card. Your not-so-modern graphics card is running on the nvidia-331, which is one of the latest Nvidia drivers. Try a switch to the older nvidia-304, which appears to support your card as well:
After installation, reboot your PC.
Reason: newer is not always better. Older cards sometimes run better on older drivers, even when new drivers claim to support such an older card as well.
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install nvidia-304

OK, I'll try and see if that will help. Thanks a lot!
Re: Mint Rebecca fails to resume after suspend-to-ram
I am experiencing the same problem. The last three types I put my laptop in suspended mode, it essentially restarted and closed all my open applications. The only thing different from a regular restart was that the it booted directly to linux mint without giving me the option to boot to Windows.
Here are my specs:

Re: Mint Rebecca fails to resume after suspend-to-ram
It seems to me that changing of graphic drivers worked. It's been now 11 days and I didn't have restart. I hope that it will last
