MDM 1.6.9 autostart fails

Post by Flashwalker »

After upgrading system to XFCE4.12 and MDM 1.6.9 mdm fails to upstart automatically and system boot hangs in console.
But it starts normally if i switch to virtual tty console ( <Ctrl>+<Alt>+F1 ), and run

Code: Select all

sudo mdm
manually (mdm.conf is ok). And system boots ok.
So how can i debug MDM upstart?

My system:
System: Linux Mint 17 Qiana xfce4.12
Kernel: i686 Linux 3.13.0-24-generic
CPU: Intel Atom CPU N450 @ 1.667GHz
Video driver: Kernel driver i915
Graphic processor: VGA compatible Intel Corporation Atom Processor D4xx/D5xx/N4xx/N5xx Integrated Graphics Controller
X.Org X Server 1.15.1

Try

sudo dpkg-reconfigure mdm

FWIW I replaced mdm with lightdm. Forget why, tho!
