Can't swtich back to Xfwm [SOLVED]

Hello everyone! I've got a little problem with the wm setting (LM Rebecca xfce). I wanted to try compiz but now there is apparently no way to get xfwm again. In mintdesktop there is xfwm selected but if I log out&in or reboot the system still has compiz. I haven't made any change to the system while trying compiz: I just tried it one day and then decided to leave it. Something I find interesting happens when I log in: I have a workspace indicator on my xfce-panel. Immediately after having logged in the indicator shows only one workspace, then the panel reappears with the indicator showing four little workspaces - which is the sign of the compiz-cube presence.
I hope someone can help me "restore" my beloved xfwm. Thank you anyway!
