Using Linux Mint 17 - XFCE. Is there graphical applet that I can used to show me my system specs?

Hardinfo will do that. I installed it under Cinnamon, I assume it would also work in xfce. It didn't put itself in the applications menu when it installed though, so I had to start it from a terminal. If you don't mind using a terminal, there's also inxi.

Once you have installed hardinfo, it can be found in the Xfce/Whisker > System menu, but is now named System Profiler and Benchmark. Go figure !

Thanks dudes. This is exactly what I was looking for. Why this is not defaulted into the install is beyond me.

Glad it's what you're looking for, I think it was pre-installed in my Mint 17 Xfce . . but I could easily be mistaken . .
