How to add power icon back to taskbar [solved]

Post by vinoman »

How do I add power icon back to taskbar? Last update changed the way it looks and I removed it. Now I don't have the icon to tell me how many minutes are left on my laptop.

Battery indicator is usually part of the "Notification Area" item on the panel, so my guess is that you accidentally deleted that.

* Right-click an empty area on the panel; choose Panel -> Panel Preferences -> Items (tab)

* Scroll down list of items to see if "Notification Area" is listed.
  • If Not Listed:
    • - click "+" button to add new item
      - scroll down list and pick Notification Area
      - click "Add" button, then close that window to get back to Items list
      - find and highlight Notification Area, then use up/down arrow buttons to position it where you want
      - click "Close" when done and your battery indicator should now be there.
If it is already on the item list:
    • - click to highlight Notification Area
      - click button to "Edit the currently selected item" (button under the "x" button)
      - in window that opens, scroll down to Xfce Power Manager and make sure there is no check mark in the box under "Hidden" column.
