Hide disk-partitions on desktop
I upgraded a relative's xp-computer to Linux Mint 16 "Petra" - Xfce (32-bit). Mint is installed on an additional disc-drive. The sda-disk has 3 partitions (xp, backup, recovery), the sdb-disk has 2 partitions (/ and an extra partition). How can i hide all these partitions on the desktop? I don't want these partitions to be hidden removed from thunar. If possible, removable disc's such as usb-sticks, must be shown on the desktop.

Re: Hide disk-partitions on desktop
As far as I can recall (I keep my desktop totally empty) you can simply delete the desktop icons. It's only the icon that gets deleted, nothing else.
Alternatively, in Mint 16 Cinnamon, in the menu left hand toolbar, open Settings (Control panel) and have a look at Preferences:Desktop. If the other partitions mounted are in there, you can set them not to show.
