Keypad Shortcuts no option to Add custom cut

Post by enero »

Hi there!

very new hire, so be careful

will be short as possible:
the short-cut for opening the terminal is not working.
so I decided to create one myself.
but when I go to System-Keypad-Shortcuts (on my laptop its: System-Tastatur-Tastnkurzel fur Anwendungen )
it opens a dialog box for a new short-cut in which I can not put the short-cut that i want.
It looks really strange! You are asked to show which Program you want to open ,but the option above it "your key-shortcut"
is GRAY. there is no white space to write something on it!

what to do!? Please help

The shorcuts tab is broken for me too. I couldn't change the shorcut of the whisker menu, it always got back to default.

There must be some bugs yet

Yes you are right. It goes back to default and you cannot change the defaults.
Anyone interested, I made some more testing and described it here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=172037

This had me fooled at first too, but....

Click 'ok' - you will then have the opportiunity to enter your desired keys :D

Also note: At one point I chose to 'reset to default' and all the shortcuts disappeared! I logged out and back in and they re-appeared.

Yeah, if you press ok it lets you edit the key. But it doesn't mean that that key combination will work afterwards.
And for the defaults, yes it does disappear altogether. But you don't even need to relogin, after you open that Keyboard settings again it is still there like nothing changed.
