Release: Linux Mint 15 "olivia"
Edition: Xfce 32-bit
The above is currently installed on a Samsung Netbook N150.
Upon completing the installation I noted that the desktop background is black and white, not colour.
Images in google and photos are in colour but for some reason it's just the desktop background, any advice please.

In the desktop settings panel (the one that lets you decide what background image you want) there is a slider called Saturation.
For some dumb reason it defaulted to 0 to me and my custom background became black and white.
Drag the pointer thing until it reaches value 1.0 to get your colors back, or more if you want to over-saturate the image.
