Updateer and logout not working, Mint 17 KDE
The update icon in the taskbar brings up the updater, but it fails to run, won't even ask me for my password. Apt-get udate and apt-get upgrade do get me current.
Also the logout applet fails to launch the logout window. Have to shut down via the command line "sudo shutdown -h now" which causes kde to take longer to restart on the next boot.
This just started to happen, wonder if an update went bad?

Re: logout applet fails to launch mint 17 kde
I just did a bunch of updates on a laptop & a desktop. I've noticed some weird behaviour on the laptop--mainly with the mouse, but the desktop so far seems fine. With the updater, make sure you haven't got apt or Synaptic or the software centre or anything else that installs applications open.
