[Solved] Odd pop-up window

I recently installed Mint 17 KDE version and have noticed a strange pop-up window that I think is related to the screensaver or screen lock. It appears briefly after the screensaver deactivates. I managed to capture a screenshot of the window shown below.

This isn't causing any harm but it is a little strange. Any ideas what this is?

This was a result of the System Settings->Power Management->Dim Screen setting enabled. Apparently it is showing the screen brightness. I did see the window display 50% sometimes although the actual screen brightness never changes.
