When I attempt to backup the software installed on my system using mintbackup...it crashes everytime. Here is the output from a konsole window:
mintbackup
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/50-user.conf", line 14: reading configurations from ~/.fonts.conf is deprecated.
/usr/lib/linuxmint/mintBackup/mintBackup.py:1675: GtkWarning: gtk_tree_model_filter_get_value: assertion 'GTK_TREE_MODEL_FILTER (model)->priv->stamp == iter->stamp' failed
gtk.main()
/usr/lib/linuxmint/mintBackup/mintBackup.py:1675: Warning: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.38.1/./gobject/gtype.c:4215: type id '0' is invalid
gtk.main()
/usr/lib/linuxmint/mintBackup/mintBackup.py:1675: Warning: can't peek value table for type '<invalid>' which is not currently referenced
gtk.main()
I have no idea what this is telling me.

Re: Mintbackup crashes
Is this Mint 16? 17?
Cinnamon? Mate?
Cinnamon? Mate?
Mint 18.2 Cinnamon, Quad core AMD A8-3870 with Radeon HD Graphics 6550D, 8GB DDR3, Ralink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI
Linux Linx 2018

Re: Mintbackup crashes
This also affects my laptop, Toshiba Satallite L775D with AMD A6-3420M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 8GB, 250GiB Samsung SSD 840 Series SSD.
Also running Petra KDE 64 with Linux-kernel 3.11.0-26-lowlatency #21-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT.
There are no error messages; backintime also does not run. Luckybackup works, though.

Re: Mintbackup crashes
wild guess but petra (mint16) is no longer supported so a local backup software will work but the mint backup cannot check for updates and may give errors.
Petra is no longer supported for the last 6 month but the repo servers have been put offline only 1 or 2 weeks ago to give people time to upgrade to mint17.

Re: Mintbackup crashes
Back to austin.texas basic question. Is it LM 16, 17? And is if the Mate, Cinamon or XFCE desktop version? The Mint Backup tool can be problematic, but start with this info if you can.austin.texas wrote:Is this Mint 16? 17? Cinnamon? Mate?
