HI new to linux here, installed mint 17.3 yesterday on my machine and can't get wifi usb adapter to work, tryed all the solutions i could find online, having problem with terminal comprehension.

The USB ID in inxi looks a bit peculiar. Please execute this command as well, and post the output:

got it to work but still no response from the usb wireless dongle

OK.... the scrivy driver is probably too old for the current kernels. I just tested it again and it failed to compile on my machine as well. Let's try another one, the abperiasamy driver, that compiled successfully on my machine with the 3.19 kernel series.

Proceed as follows:

1. Remove the current directory rtl8812AU_8821AU_linux in your personal folder, and all that's in it. You can simply do that from within your file manager.

2. Use the updated how-to on my website for installing another driver:
