Dear friends,
it´s my first post. Im an newbee in LINUX.
But I have some experiences in other it systems.
I made my first MINT Linux installation on an Fujitsu Esprimo Mobile laptop.
The setup I start from an downloaded DVD image.
The installation works properly an find the WLAN connection.
After the first newstart I hade the problem, that I can´t access internet.
The computer find the WLAn card, the connection is established. DHCP receive an IP address.
I can access all devices in my network AT MY SITE... like NAS, printer, APACHE server....
But I can´t establish an connection to any internet sites.. like http://www.google.com.
I test the same connection ever an UMTS router... the same effect.
When I switch OFF my WLAN an plug in the ethernet cable – I can access all addresses.
So I understand that I have an problem INSIDE the Linux Mint.
When I ask ...route... I finde out:
- if the cable is connected I have an default route...
- if the WLAN is connected I have NO default route...
The solution for the moment is to make an route with ...route add default gw router.box wlan0...
Then all connection working properly.
But after an new start the route is lost and I must do it again.
Im koocking for the place where I can make the default route for THIS ONE connection.
To make the default route in systems start is no solution... Different WLAN connection may have different default routes (see DHCP..).
Who an help me to find the correct place where I can modify this option?

Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- copy/paste this command into the terminal:
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter)
Press Enter.
Copy/paste the output in your next message.

I must resolve them for a client.
So I have only now time to solve my own problems.
You need some information about my systems...

Re: WLAN and DEFAULT ROUTE
Try the following:
1. Make sure that your wireless network meets the following requirements:
- visible SSID (network name not hidden);
- WPA2 Personal encryption with "AES only" (no TKIP)
2. Ensure that your wireless network transmits on the optimal channel for it:

3. Disable IPv6 in Linux Mint:
