So, fresh install today of 17.3, and on board wifi doesn't work. I've spent the last several hours looking and trying what others with the same hardware have tried, and still the on board wireless is dead. I have a USB wifi card that works for the meantime, but for some reason when the laptop goes to sleep (close the lid) all wifi is disabled (toggle switches in network manager are unresponsive) until I restart (likely another thread?) Not sure where to go from here. Please help.
An interesting tidbit: Moved into the office where the ATT uverse box is and the wifi works. when I move downstairs, just out of line of site it looses signal and dies, the USB wifi card gets ~80% signal downstairs, the onboard wifi worked fine with win10 installed sitting in the same spot.

Can you remove a panel to look at the internal wifi card?

If you can, is there one antenna wire or two?

If it has only one wire, move it to the other antenna connector on the card

No bottom panel, and to get to the board is overly complicated. Not something I'm going to try (yet?)
Thanks for the thought.

According to the instructions, there is one antenna and not two

It is easier than my Dell..remove keyboard, optical drive, battery, unhook ribbon cables.. I am not doing that again
