[sudo] password for michael:
network-manager stop/waiting
network-manager start/running, process 2966

No change however- Would a reinstall do it ? Or is it just the problem with the specific wlan card ?

Do you know why there are two wireless interfaces?

One of them (phy0) is hard blocked. On my machine, I have a switch that turns wifi off, and a "hard block" only occurs when I turn this switch to off. Do you have anything like this, or perhaps a key combination that turns wifi on or off?

Re your last question: I don't know if a reinstall would help or not. Did you check the md5sum of the iso before installation, and how did you install Mint?

Try

Code: Select all

echo "options asus_nb_wmi wapf=4" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/asus_nb.conf
Reboot and see if wifi functions

Shoot--I think you're right! I don't know why I didn't think about that; I worked on an Asus once with a similar problem.

It changes the rfkill behavior with some Asus laptops.
