I had to open up my laptop a few days ago to do some repairs. The computer is a lenovo r61. I'm running Linux Mint 17.2 (however if I do unane -r it returns 3.13.0-37-generic). I recall recently updating the kernel right before I took it apart, but, this doesn't appear to be an up to date kernel.
If I run refill list I get:
0: phy0: wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes
I'm thinking that the wifi issue & my repair are just coincidental.
Any idea how to turn hard blocked off?

Re: wifi quit working
Thanks for the reply. As it turns there is a wifi switch.
There was another time I took it apart and I lost wifi. I was looking around and saw some old posts on the subject and saw one suggesting to boot from the previous kernel version. It sounded familiar.
I remember now that the problem that time was the switch too.
