I have installed Linux mint 17.2 mate(64bit) on my new Acer Aspire E5-573 and I have no wifi, only wired internet is working.

I have a Qualcomm Atheros Device 0042 Wifi.

Yes, this device is currently not supported by kernel. :(

I sent a bug report already, hope there will be a support in future. I will have to buy USB wireless adapter to fix this wifi problem.

Yes you tracked it, still waiting for the solution. Hope they will fix the driver problem soon.

If either of you know the hardware version of your card??? I am not sure where it would be found, possibly on the card itself. If it is version 1.0 try my possible solution posted at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2300861 post #3
