If I turn on the Edimax, turn off the Atheros PCI wireless, my wireless will fail repeatedly within minutes asking for re-authentication. If I remove the USB dongle the Atheros PCI works fine but I only get 2.4 GHz.
I want to use the higher speed and capability of 5GHz of the Edimax.

I can install the Edimax on a Linux Mint 17.1 Toshiba 32bit Netbook and it worked fine.
I want to use the higher end Acer but the Edimax won't stay running.
