I currently have Lunux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon 64bit kernel 3.16.0-38 generic.
I have a Atheros AR9287 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI Express) that works fine. It is 2.4 GHz.

I want to use the higher speed and capability of 5GHz of the Edimax.
I can install the Edimax on a Linux Mint 17.1 Toshiba 32bit Netbook and it worked fine.
I want to use the higher end Acer but the Edimax won't stay running.
