I need help with my TP-LINK WN7200ND!

Post by Reaction_404 »

I need help with my antenna TP-LINK WN7200ND, I'm about to install Linux Mint 17.2, but I am testing if some drivers do not recognize them, but recognized my device successfully. The only problem is that I have low Wi-Fi signal two bars (in windows filled me five bars), I can do to solve this problem. I hope your answers.

thanks. :D

Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- launch a terminal window and make it full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter)

Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output in your next message.

That looks OK to me.... I wouldn't worry about the signal strength bars being less than you expect, because that may well be just an optical difference with Windows. As long as you have connection, you're alright.

One question: you also have another, built-in wireless chipset. Why don't you use that?

what happens is that my network card does not reach the minimum set, only it comes to have two bars and then the signal was lost. so I had to buy this antenna to get more signal range. my question is, is the Linux kernel brings that does not support signal range?
I have my antenna drivers and obviously can run on Windows, but I can run on wine?

One sidenote: inSSIDer might no longer be free. If you have an Android phone, I advise the app Wifi Analyzer, which is still entirely free (with small ads that you can disable for a week).
