Cannot connect to WiFi network using Realtek RTL8192CU

Post by addverma »

Hi,
I have just installed Linux mint 17.1 32 bit on a USB Flash Drive/Stick. Please note it is not a live USB installation but actually a full fledged installation on Linux Mint 17.1. The kernel version is 3.13.0-37-generic. I am using a USB WiFi adapter to connect to my ASDL router. However when I configure a WiFi network connection and try to connect, the connection fails. The error message on the desktop being shown is "Disconnected - You are no longer connected". I am able to use the same WiFi adapter and connect to my ADSL router in Windows XP SP3. The output for the lsusb, usb-devices, are given below.

Can somebody please help me in figuring out how to connect using Realtek RTL8192CU Wifi Adapter?
