Post by DMH3006 »

Hi, I installed Linux Mint 17.1 MATE and the recommended drivers. Afterwards no wifi signals are detected. This is a freshly installed system so if you could help me get the wifi going.

The result of using ini -Fxz

The driver may be installed, but you might still need to install the firmware for the kernel. From Synaptic Package Manager you can find and install the firmware-b43-installer.

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately after installing what you've recommended the issue remains.

So I uninstalled bcmwl and went with b43 and the wifi now works with one small issue.
Sometimes it detects the networks and other times it doesn't, can anyone help me understand this?

Thank you.
