Wifi Monitor?

Post by MrPez »

I'm having a lot of trouble with downloading using deluge and am wondering if the cause may be dropouts with my wifi connection.
Is there some sort of command or GUI that can monitor my wifi connection so I can see if there are any disconnections?
I'm on Mint 17.
Cheers

Maybe it's a driver issue. Please generate an overview of your hardware like this:
- launch a terminal window and make it fullscreen, to avoid chopped lines;
- copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output in your next message.

tun0 no wireless extensions.

lo no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11abgn ESSID:"jonathan.5.6"
Mode:Managed Frequency:5.18 GHz Access Point: 10:BF:48:E4:71:94
Bit Rate=216 Mb/s Tx-Power=22 dBm
Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Power Management:on
Link Quality=43/70 Signal level=-67 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:1186 Missed beacon:0
Have to admit, that doesn't mean much to me...
It would appear to be something to do with the wifi though, as I changed my download folder to a local one instead of on the NAS and was able to download a 1.5Gb file without any issues, but as soon as I change it back it crashes after a random length of time.

It might be, because power management kicks in. Try if it helps, when you turn off power management for your wireless chipset alone:
