wifi mint 17.1 dell latitude d800

ok checked bios wireless is on so is fn f2 i have bcm4309 tried installing b43-fwcutter and firmware-b43-installer and restarted still nothing. i have had these problems with other ubuntu flavors and got them working on this laptop but mint got me at wits end. i dont know what to try next read post after post but nothing works. i will post some info maybe help somebody help me any ideas what to do or maybe im just a morron idk lol

You installed the proprietary driver first and that blacklists the needed driver, so

sudo apt-get purge bcmwl-kernel-source broadcom-sta-common broadcom-sta-dkms
Reboot and wifi should work

It works for Ubuntu, but for Linux Mint too

It`s the first thing I do when I`ve installed the new version.
It is in Dutch, but maybe you can get a translation?
