Wifi Radar

Post by stargazer76 »

My ISP carrier had to switch out my modem, and I am having difficulty reconnecting wirelessly. I'd like to get my computer to automatically detect wireless networks. Is Wifi Radar my best bet? I am fairly new at all this and need something with the least amount of challenges if possible.

Do I just run something in the command line?

Programs like wifiradar aren't meant to solve underlying connection problems. Run the wireless script as indicated here:

and paste results using

Also Network Manager can do what wifi radar can. and works quite well. Run the script mention in the previous post. it should reveal the networking problem.

I ran the script above...entered by sudo password...then it created a TAR.GZ file in my home directory. When I attempt to extract it, i name a folder, it thinks a minute then replies with a message that the file is empty. However, the file size that I see in the GZ folder is 41.4 KB. I am sorry I seem to have problems with everything. How do I open this file? I am still having issues with my wireless. I have uninstalled RADAR, and still the wireless is not detected.
